Piyut Time Festival: ‘Listen to the Soul’
Featuring Din Din Aviv and Dvir Cohen
An evening of song, piyut and narrative by Din Din Aviv and Dvir Cohen, two gifted artists representing separate cultural traditions. Dvir Cohen, who comes from a family of Yemenite paytanim, is a soloist of the Diwan Project and King David’s Strings. Din Din Aviv, who grew up in a home with Balkan traditions, combines various ethnic motifs in her performance. They will share stories about the musical influences of their childhood, tracing their journey back to those family roots through music. This will be an intimate evening of song and narrative in which the audience can also learn piyutim.
